The Act

Image
Ever since I moved out of my father's house, I started working full time and hangout with my new friends in Phoenix. I never got to watch movies or series online. It was just recent that I started using these online streaming programs like Netflix and Hulu. Last week, I saw a trailer in Facebook titled "The Act". A series that is shown in Hulu. It is about a girl trying to escape from her overprotective mother. She was forced to act sick and been restricted to a lot of activities. Her mother forced her to be in a wheelchair even though she can walk.  This series is actually based on a real story that happened on the year of 2015. It was a shocking news because Dee Dee Blanchard(Gypsy's mom) died. Who killed her? It was Gypy's boyfriend named Nick Godejohn. Investigators said this was a Manchausen by proxy case  in which a mother fakes or causes a disease in her child and then seeks out repeated medical attention for the child. How time goes by so fast when it was just the start of the year 2019 and we didn't realize it is already the month of MAY! And when it's the month of May we also think about Summer. But wait a minute, is everyone really ready for Summer? Well, Arizona heat has started already. Don't forget to pass all your final exams before we try to enjoy your summer vacay. I have some ideas on what to do this Summer: 1. Exotic Destination If you're an adventurous type of person, I would suggest you visit Bali, Indonesia. Bali, Indonesia is an island surrounded with volcanoes and beautiful beaches. It is also known as "The Land of the Gods" because of magnificent looking mountains to it's mesmerizing beaches. It has a rich and very diverse culture.                       2. City Destination If you're feeling artsy or interested about architecture and history I would recommend checking the "La Sagrada

WHAT'S IN NICU(Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)?

Image
There are different kinds of unit in the hospital. There is Medical Surgical, Observation Unit, Surgery Unit, Emergency Department, & Maternity. In the Maternity Unit, this is where women are provided care up until childbirth. There are some unfortunate circumstances wherein babies aren't fully developed and needs a higher care. They get admitted to the Neonatal Intensive care unit(NICU) or shall we say a Neonatal version of ICU. What is NICU ? It's a unit where they specialize in taking care of prematurely born or dangerously ill babies. Unfortunately, some Neonates get admitted to NICU due to possible causes: 1. Intrauterine growth restriction   A condition in which a baby doesn't grow to normal weight during pregnancy. Baby is most likely born underweight or small for gestational age. They aren't well developed yet. Ages 37 weeks and below. 2. Respiratory Distress Syndrome This is very common in newborn babies because of their immature lungs wherei

#Education

Lately, there has been a lot of students dropping out of college. Bill Gates once told students "The U.S. has the highest college dropout rate. We're number one in terms of the number of people who start college but we're like number 20 in terms of the number of people who finish college."   Why? It’s because of high tuition cost. Education may be offered somewhat free before but College is different. According to FOX Business , there are student loan lender that helps students who don’t have cosigners, more than half of the current college students surveyed said they had to drop out of college after they were unable to find funding. Some students underestimate the college cost and realized too late that they lack the funds to cover it. Others may decide that they would rather be making money working full time rather than having to spend so much time, effort and money for pursuing a degree.  Photo Credit: Caleb Alvarado @ Gould Evans Associates  Being f

Traveling

Image
A lot of people has been spending most of their time working, going to school, trying to figure out what they want or could be something else. They tend to forget that they also need a break from all of the responsibilities in life. Traveling It's a good way to take a break or unwind and get out of those suffocating 4 walls. Here are some great benefits of traveling: 1. Relieves stress, ofcourse. 2.Teaches you about your homeland. I was born and raised in Philippines where it has more than 7,000 islands. I moved to Arizona 2 years ago. Traveling doesn't just make you learn about foreign culture but able to notice a big difference from yours. Cebu, Philippines Havasupai Falls, Arizona Time Square, New York 3. Try different things. Food is one of my favorite thing to try. Here are some photos 4. Most especially, DEVELOP A GREAT GROWTH AND INDEPENDENCE We've become comfortable with our daily roles or routines because we know how to deal wi
